Epic Games has officially confirmed that Rocket League will integrate Easy Anti-Cheat in April, launching alongside Season 22 on both the Epic Games Store and Steam.

The move is aimed squarely at strengthening Rocket League’s competitive integrity. According to the developers, Easy Anti-Cheat will significantly improve real-time cheat detection and bans, while also supporting broader efforts such as advanced bot detection and DDoS attack prevention.

Once live, PC players will be able to launch Rocket League with Easy Anti-Cheat enabled or disabled. However, enabling it will be mandatory to access online matchmaking, private matches, and tournaments. When Easy Anti-Cheat is active, mods will be disabled entirely.

Players who turn Easy Anti-Cheat off will still be able to use mods in offline matches, training modes, LAN play, and replay viewing, including custom video editing tools. Community-created content such as Steam Workshop maps will remain playable regardless of the setting, though modded overlays will require Easy Anti-Cheat to be disabled.

Epic also acknowledged the importance of mods in esports broadcasting. Tournament organizers and broadcast partners will be able to apply for special permissions that allow specific accounts to compete online with Easy Anti-Cheat turned off, enabling custom cameras and graphics for live events.

In addition, several popular mod-inspired features are being added directly into Rocket League, including:

  • An optional in-game MMR display
  • Improvements to Custom Training
  • A new flip reset indicator

Importantly, Epic confirmed that Steam Deck and Linux players using Proton will continue to be supported, even with Easy Anti-Cheat enabled — addressing one of the community’s biggest concerns.

More details on Rocket League Season 22 are expected next month, with Epic encouraging players to continue sharing feedback ahead of the rollout.
